The Iron Range Historical Society has 6 binders full of information on the explorer Will Steger, from 1982 to the present. We have an original typed autobiographical article by Steger. From Steger’s mother’s home, we have personal letters of congratulation, personal memos, newspaper and magazine articles (some in foreign languages) on his North Pole Expedition. We own a sled used by Keizo Funztsu in Greenland and in Antarctica on the Steger expeditions which is on indefinite loan to the Mesabi Trail Regional Railroad Authority, along with several large posters showing the events of the Antarctica crossing. The Iron Range Historical Society continues to follow Steger’s educational efforts with regard to the environment and global climate change.
